Lopamudra is second runner-up at Miss United Continents 2016



Before heading out to represent India at the Miss United Continents 2016, Lopamudra Raut (Miss United Continents India 2016) had told us that she hoped to not only win the crown, but also hearts. Looks like the young girl has realised her dream. At the grand finale held yesterday at Crystal Palace in Guayaquil (Ecuador), Lopamudra won the Miss United Continents 2016 2nd Runner-up title.Since then, congratulations have been pouring in from all quarters. Philippines' Jeslyn Santos was crowned Miss United Continents 2016 at the event.

A visibly thrilled Lopamudra says, “The feeling is yet to sink in.I am extremely happy and thankful for the support extended by my family , friends and fans. I am also grateful to Vineet Jain (MD, The Times Group) and Miss India Organization for giving me this opportunity and guiding me throughout my exciting journey .“

The pageant saw 30 participants from four continents ­ Ameri ca, Asia, Europe and Africa ­ giving each other stiff competition.Lopamudra, with her poise and confidence, owned the ramp and sashayed down in a classy gown by Gaviin Miguel, making her way to the jury's hearts.

From being a tomboy to representing India at Miss United Continents 2016, Lopamudra's journey has been an inspiring one.She has been groomed by experts in the fashion and glamour industry, including fashion director Kavita Lakhani. She adds, “I am also thankful to Aloe Veda for supporting me.“

Lopamudra competed in other sub-contests, including Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality and Miss Beautiful Face at the event.And she won the Best National Costume, making it a hat-trick of sorts for India at this pageant, with Gail Da' Silva (Miss United Continents 2014 1st Runner-up) and Sushrii Shreya Mishraa (Miss United Continents 2015 3rd runner-up) winning it in the previous editions.
